The New England Revolution are the best club in MLS right now but they don’t seem to be getting the love they deserve.

Among MLS media, all the talk seems to be about the Seattle Sounders out West, Atlanta United for both on and off the field reasons, and Chicharito out with the LA Galaxy.

But right now the Revolution are at the top of the Supporters’ Shield standings and are competing against LAFC’s total points record from back in 2019. Bob Bradley’s squad racked up 72 points in 34 games.

With LA setting the bar quite high in 2019, New England will have to maintain a high level of play even as their captain Carles Gil is currently sidelined.

Right now the Revs are averaging a similar points per game. A possible sign that New England will not reach the mark is the fact that their goal differential and total goals scored doesn’t compare to what LA was able to do.

The Revolution also have some of the best players in the league. Carles Gil is still in the MVP conversation and Gustavo Bou is tied at the top of the MLS Golden Boot race.

New England also has Matt Turner who continues to show that he is the best goalkeeper in MLS. He has played in 14 games this season and has four clean sheets.

After Sunday’s win over the Philadelphia Union, Turner was asked if he feels that the club is disrespected by the MLS media and while he doesn’t feel that’s the case, he hopes by the end of the season they will get more attention.

Turner said, “Absolutely not. I think that stuff is just noise. We’ll just keep taking care of business the way we’ve been doing, or as best we can. We’ll go forth that way. Hopefully, by the end of the season they’ll be writing about us like they write about the other teams.”

The goalkeeper and his teammates will have another chance to grab the league’s attention as they go up against Toronto FC on Saturday.
