Bou missed Saturday’s game, but he shouldn’t be out for long.
After winning 2-1, head coach Bruce Arena told the media that the Argentine attacker was sidelined with a minor injury.
“He’s fine,” Arena explained. “He had a minor muscle injury. He’ll be back in full training on Monday.”
Bou has played 34 regular-season games since signing with the Revs on Jul. 10, 2019. He’s amassed 15 goals and five assists during 2,664 minutes. His most recent tally came in the 2021 season-opener when he scored the equalizer against the Chicago Fire.
With Bou out, the Revs lined up in a 4-2-3-1 formation on Saturday. Carles Gil started centrally with Tajon Buchanan playing on the right. The tactical switch worked, as Gil recorded an assist on the first goal and scored the penalty that Buchanan drew.
Still, the Revs know that Bou is a talented player and are excited to welcome him back into the fold.
“We knew Gustavo wouldn’t play,” Carles Gil said. “He’s got a knock, but he’s a good player. He gives us a lot. He marks up well and he’s tough for the opposing team.”
