…But they could add someone

Bruce Arena isn’t looking to sell any of his players right now, but he could add someone.

There have been several rumors about New England Revolution players in the past year. Charlie Davies stated that Matt Turner has drawn interest from Europe. Adam Buksa was reportedly courted by Shalke of Germany and Mallorca of Spain. It’s said that Tajon Buchanan has caught the attention of many clubs, including RC Lens of France, who put in an offer of $3.5 million.

When speaking to the media on Friday, Arena was upfront about the potential of selling a player this season, saying, “We don’t expect to transfer any of our players out in 2021.”

When asked specifically about Buchanan, Arena said that he’s aware of the interest. He also said that a lot goes into deciding if it’s the right time to sell a player.

“We will always talk with the player and his agent about any possibilities that the player may have,” Arena explained. “And when we feel it’s the right time, we will consider making a decision to transfer the player.”

Although Arena doesn’t expect to sell any players this season, he didn’t rule out the possibility of bringing someone in. This all comes down to finding the right piece.

“If we feel there’s a player there that we can get that’ll help our team, we would certainly make that addition,” Arena said. “But it has to be the right type of player. We’re looking, but it’s not critical that we add another player at this point.”
