Two weeks until Opening Day
We need a name for the first night game of spring training, which is a low-key important milestone on the road to the baseball season. Truck day, pitchers and catchers, and the Northeastern scrimmage get all the attention, but it’s that first night game that really signals that baseball is almost here, that the game is about to once again become a part of our daily lives, supplying each day with its peculiar rhythm.
The Red Sox took on the Twins at JetBlue Park last night as Opening Day fast approaches. Did you enjoy the game?

No, you did not, because once again it was not televised. Luckily for us there were some people who enjoyed the game because they were there. Shout out to some guy named @Torts418, who gave us footage of Triston Casas’s first homer of the spring in the first:

Good ol’ Torts understood the assignment and gave us more highlights from other games, including an RBI by Rob Refsnyder and a homer by Trayce Thompson, who may have a shot at cracking the Opening Day roster given the illness that has struck Wilyer Abreu and Roman Anthony.

The Sox would go on to defeat the Twins 6-5 last night. Tanner Houck had a rough night, allowing eight hits and five earned runs in 2.2 innings, though Garrett Whitlock and Cooper Criswell had solid outings out of the bullpen.
The Sox will take on the Mets this afternoon in a game that, again, is not televised.
