I love a fun win!
The Sox played some great baseball today and got a relatively easy win over the Twins, thanks to clutch offense, great defense, and a fantastic outing by Bello. Now all we have to be anxious about is the front office!
Seven Studs (Yes, Today there are Seven):
Brayan Bello: This man fears the sun no more! With this line, you can’t complain: 7 IP, 5 hits, 1 run (earned), 4 walks, and 4 strikeouts. The one run was also only because of a solo homer by Matt Wallner.
Trevor Story: He’s heating up again! Had his second home run in two days and went 2-3, with the home run, a double, and a walk.
Jarren Duran: Maybe we should keep Duran. His box score was 3-5, with an RBI single, a 2-run home run, and a double.
The defense: Prevented a run by throwing Kody Clemens out at home thanks to a bad send by the Twins’ third base coach, got a few double plays for Bello to offset his walks and hits, and Rafaela made a tricky catch from second.
The offense: Thirteen runs!! The Sox hadn’t scored that many runs in a single game since June 28th in that rout against the Blue Jays. Kody Clemens helped with that. Also, everyone got a hit except for Abraham Toro, but he did get a sac fly.
Chris Murphy: Kept the Twins to one run and pitched 2 innings. His box score for today is straight zeroes: 0 hits, 0 runs or earned runs, 0 walks, 0 strikeouts.
The airplane celly: The Red Sox are now 2-0 since they’ve implemented this celly, as a reference to their extremely turbulent flight on the way to Minnesota.
Two Duds:
Kody Clemens: He lacks the pitching prowess of his father. Maybe Kody should take steroids like ol’ Roger did!
The Red Sox Front Office: Why hasn’t anything happened yet? Why have the Rockies, the Pirates, the Nats, the Orioles, and the White Sox made moves and we haven’t!?
Play of the Game: Masataka Yoshida’s First Home Run of the Season
Just a very silly moment in a very fun game!
