Cleveland? Cubs?
TGIF.
The Red Sox weren’t able to totally recover from a Jose Ramirez grand slam yesterday and enter the weekend at 14-12. They are 3.0 games back of the Baltimore Orioles and New York Yankees. And one game in front of the Tampa Bay Rays and Toronto Blue Jays.
Starting Friday Boston is hosting the Chicago Cubs!
The pitching matchups:
Shota Imanaga vs Kutter Crawford at 7:10 PM ET Friday.
TBD vs Josh Winckowski at 4:10 PM ET Saturday.
Jordan Wicks vs Tanner Houck at 7:10 PM ET, the ESPN game of the week.
Remembering 2004
The Sox fell to 15-11 after a second straight loss to Cleveland, running the losing streak to 5 games. May the 4th was not with them 20 years ago. Derek Lowe was touched for all 7 Cleveland runs over 5 innings, although only 2 were earned. Bill Mueller made two errors on the night. Lenny DiNardo, Mike Timlin, and Mark Malaska all pitched scoreless relief. Manny and Johnny Damon hit home runs. Future Red Sox Victor Martinez had two hits on the night.
Talk about what you want and be good to one another.
