With Marcelo Mayer headed for the IL at the Major League level, it was David Hamilton who was scratched for both games of the doubleheader. With Kristian Campbell below the Mendoza Line and staying down at Triple-A, he got the scoring started in the first with his second home run for Worcester.

In the fourth, Nathan Hickey added a two-run shot, his twelfth home run of the season, followed by an RBI double by Corey Rosier to open the lead up to 4-0. Hickey and Rosier were both 2-for-3. That was all that Cooper Criswell needed, spinning five shutout innings, allowing just two hits, and striking out six. He improved to 4-2 with a 3.32 ERA.

After falling behind St. Paul (MIN) 2-0 in the first inning, the Woo Sox clawed back to sweep the doubleheader, thanks to a four-run sixth inning rally. They entered the inning trailing 2-1, before Nate Eaton tied the score with an RBI single. Blaze Jordan added another single, part of a multi-hit effort, to take the lead, and then Nathan Hickey stayed hot and knocked in two more runs with a double.

Worcester bullpen-gamed-it, with Isaac Coffey allowing two runs in two innings to start, and Wyatt Mills picking up his fourth win in relief. Jose Adames earned his second save.

Worcester entered the doubleheader at an even 48-48, and left two games over .500. They’ll send Tyler Uberstine (1-3, 3.74) to the bump on Friday at 8:07 ET.

Portland Sea Dogs 5, Richmond Flying Squirrels 3 (BOX)

Much like Worcester, the Sea Dogs used a four-run sixth inning comeback to fuel their victory over Richmond (SF). Ronald Rosario and Max Ferguson each contributed RBI doubles in the inning. Allan Castro also tacked on an RBI double in the ninth inning for an insurance run.

Dalton Rogers got the start for the Sea Dogs, allowing one run and striking out six, but fell one out short of getting the win. Caleb Bolden took the baton to the finish line, throwing 4 1/3 to get his first win of the season.

Portland’s starter is TBD on Friday at 6:35.

Hub City Spartanburgers 3, Greenville Drive 0 (BOX)

The Drive could never get the bats going in this one, mustering just four hits. Two of those hits came from Miguel Bleis, who also stole a base, improving his average to .228

Zack Kelly threw his first rehab outing to open the game, striking out two in a clean inning. The Drive struck out 14 Spartanburgers (TEX) on the day. Bulk follower Michael Sansone struck out five of those in a four-inning effort, despite getting the loss. Erik Rivera struck out six in 2 2/3 innings.

Brandon Clarke (0-1, 3.33) will get the ball on Friday at 6:45.

Charleston Riverdogs 8, Salem Red Sox 2 (BOX)

Salem opened up the scoring with a two-run second inning, including an RBI single from catcher Klayver Salazar. Starter Joey Gartrell threw four shutout innings, striking out five. After that, the Riverdogs (TB) took over, scoring eight runs against Salem relievers. Joe Vogatsky got the loss in a three-run seventh inning.

Justin Gonzales, Enddy Azocar, and Yosander Asencio all had multiple hits in the game for Salem.

Salem will send Devin Futrell (0-4, 2.48) to the hill on Friday at 6:35.
