After getting the Just Blaze headline yesterday, The Jumpman stayed scorching at the plate on Thursday evening. Blaze Jordan’s two-run double in the fourth inning put the Woo Sox ahead 2-1, with Jordan adding a second hit later on. Nate Eaton and Nick Sogard also had two hits, each for the second consecutive day. Right fielder Phillip Sikes added his third home run of the season in the bottom of the fifth inning, which put the Woo Sox ahead to stay for a 9-6 victory over the Red Wings (WAS).
After previously throwing six shutout innings at Portland, Isaac Coffey got his first start at Worcester, going 3 1/3 innings, allowing one run on four hits. Wyatt Mills picked up the win in relief, throwing 1 2/3 innings. Isaiah Campbell was blown up for five hits and three runs in the ninth, despite entering with a six-run lead.

In a back-and-forth affair in Portland with a morning start, the Sea Dogs eventually went down in extra innings. Connelly Early got the ball and allowed nine hits over five innings, but was able to limit the damage and allowed just two runs. Chris Murphy continued his rehab, throwing his fourth straight clean outing in relief. Leading 3-2 over the Yard Goats (COL) in the 7th, both Zach Bryant and Christopher Troye allowed three earned runs late in the game; a blown save for Bryant and a loss for Troye.
Shortstop Marvin Alcantara led the Sea Dogs with three RBI, two on sacrifice flies and one on an RBI groundout. DH Allan Castro had the lone multi-hit output, while also stealing a base.
Hayden Mullins (0-0, 0.82) will toe the rubber on Friday at 6:00 for Portland.
Greenville Drive 7, Rome Emperors 2 (BOX)

It was the Miguel Bleis Show early and often for Greenville on Thursday, going double dongs (8,9) against Rome (ATL). Bleis homered in both the first and third innings, accounting for three runs batted in, and scored his third run of the game in the fifth, brought in by shortstop Nazzan Zanatello’s three-run homer (5). Both Zanatello and Bleis also stole a base in the game.
Bleis’ second homer was an absolute rocket and a reminder of how impressive his batted ball stats were at 19 years old, before his shoulder injury in 2023. Bleis is still just 21 and shouldn’t be forgotten about as a prospect, with his wRC+ now up to 127 on the season.
Two ABs, two home runs for Miguel Bleis as he goes apartment hunting again.

Cooper Adams got a save, of the three-inning variety, allowing no runs on two hits.
The Drive will send John Holobetz (1-1, 3.98) to the hill Friday at 6:45.
