The Woo Sox peaked early on Thursday night, starting with a bang in the top of the first on Jhostynxon Garcia’s sixth bomb with Worcester, to dead center. Garcia added two walks and now sports a .346/.400/.654 slash line in 19 games at Triple-A.

Richard Fitts’ struggles since his pectoral injury continued in his start on Thursday night. After being rushed to the big leagues for two emergency starts, Fitts returned to Worcester and allowed four earned in three innings last week. On Thursday, Fitts threw 65 pitches (40 strikes), allowing four runs (three earned) over four innings, with seven baserunners, and striking out four.
Lehigh (PHI) broke this one open in the bottom of the seventh by scoring eight runs, six of which were off reliever Austin Adams. Vaughn Grissom followed up his four-hit day on Wednesday by adding a solo shot in the ninth for Worcester, and the final was 12-3.
Cooper Criswell (2-1, 1.52) takes the bump on Friday at 7:05 for the Woo Sox.
Portland Sea Dogs 6, Somerset Patriots 1 (BOX)

Pitching was the story for the Sea Dogs against Somerset (NYY) on Thursday. Hayden Mullins picked up his first win with Portland, going five one-hit shutout innings and striking out four. Jack Anderson picked up where Mullins left off by throwing four innings, with one run allowed and five strikeouts to get the save.
Mullins has a sparkling ERA of 1.78 combined between High-A and Double-A this season with a 12.5 K/9. However, his walks have ticked up since getting to Portland, issuing 16 of them in 18 1/3 innings. He’s gotten lucky, having allowed only one home run this season, and will need to limit the free passes to continue his success.
On the hitting side, center fielder Allan Castro and second baseman Karson Simas each contributed three-hit days. Simas hit his first home run of the year, and Castro had two RBI. I’m counting eleven stolen bases in the screenshot above, so I’d suggest the Patriots work on holding baserunners on their next off day.
Portland has not named a starter yet for the 7:05 game on Friday.
Greenville Drive 3, Hudson Valley Renegades 2 (BOX)

John Holobetz got the start for the Drive and was excellent for 5 2/3 innings, striking out five Renegades. Trailing 1-0 after five, Greenville did all of their damage in the top of the sixth, with Nazzan Zanetello and Yophery Rodriguez knocking in runs on base hits. Rodriguez and Miguel Bleis each had two hits, with Bleis stealing two bases (13) as well. Matt McShane pitched the final two innings to pick up his second save in a 3-2 victory over the Renegades (NYY)
Greenville plays at 7:05 on Friday, and their starter is TBD.
Salem Red Sox 3, Delmarva Shorebirds 2 (BOX)

Salem also tallied a 3-2 win over Delmarva (BAL) to make it a winning day overall on the farm. Shea Sprague was the “bulk” man, following opener Joey Gartrell, who struggled with control. Sprague didn’t allow a hit over four innings, striking out five and getting his second win of the season. Jay Allmer got the save, throwing a clean ninth inning. Salem got single runs in the 1st, 2nd, and 7th innings, with Fraymi De Leon and Starlyn Nunez each singling home a run.
Devin Futrell (0-1, 4.50) will get the ball for Salem on Friday at 7:05.
