The Red Sox look to extend their winning streak to five games.
For the fourth consecutive game, the Red Sox are facing a left-handed starter, and so for the fourth consecutive game, they’ve loaded up the lineup with right-handed bats. Nate Eaton, Romy Gonzalez, Rob Refsnyder, Trevor Story and Ceddanne Rafaela make up five of the first six spots in the lineup tonight.
However, what might be even more telling is the one left-handed bat once again in and near the top of the lineup: Roman Anthony, slashing .386/.426/.568 over his last ten games, is batting third. With his first career home run at Fenway Park last night, he’s becoming a staple of the next great Red Sox team right before our eyes.
