Will the parade of runs from last night continue or will the bats once again turn erratic from game to game?
Dick Fitts has pitched in ten major league games so far in his young career, and aside from that one disastrous outing against the Angels a month ago when he gave up six runs in the first inning, he’s been very solid.
In fact, in the other nine games he’s appeared in, he has a 2.42 ERA in 44.2 innings of work. This includes five outings where he gave up zero earned runs. Despite this, the team has managed to lose every single game he’s pitched in. They’re 0-10 when he pitches anywhere!
One thing that would certainly help him get in the win column is if the bats look anything like they did last night when they piled up 13 runs, including seven in the first inning.
