Perhaps a run will score today!
The Red Sox offense is dead, and playing the Blue Jays, which, for some reason or another, have been their divisional kryptonite thus far, isn’t helping anything. I don’t want to be negative, because we all deserve a summer full of watching actually entertaining baseball games.
Unfortunately, getting back on track with that seems like a hard ask tonight, as Boston faces Chris Bassitt — who’s never given up more than two runs in a start against the Red Sox — and has to deal with a top-three offense in the month of June from Toronto’s end. But maybe these odds being stacked against them will bring out a fire in the Red Sox that we haven’t seen since that first game in San Francisco! Only time will tell.
But hey, if things continue to go off the rails, at least we can watch the WooSox and Cooper Criswell to ease our pain.
First pitch is at 4:10 p.m. ET on NESN and WEEI.
