Will Hunter Dobbins get a bunch of run support again?
Recent injuries will have their fingerprints all over today’s game:
- Hunter Dobbins gets the start for the Sox replacing Walker Buehler on the mound.
- Romy Gonzalez will be at first base as the team begins the rest of the season without Triston Casas.
- While he hasn’t gone on the IL, Kristian Campbell is once again missing from the lineup. In his place, David Hamilton is at second base and batting seventh.
The weakened lineup will has big shoes to fill and will likely put more stress on Dobbins than he’s experienced so far in his brief (two game) major league career. In his first two starts, the team scored 18 and 10 runs against the Cardinals and White Sox respectively, allowing him to get the win each time with minimal drama. Today, he looks to make it a perfect three for three, all against central time zone opponents.
