Opening day wouldn’t be complete without some wicked good eats.
But this year, Fenway Park is changing its tune from “buy me some peanuts and cracker jack” to “buy me some bacon-on-a-stick and a waffle burger.”
Not as catchy, but these new treats have all the fans and foodies talking.
Don’t worry Red Sox Nation – your beloved ballpark favorites are still there. Nothing could ever replace Fenway Franks.
But this is TitleTown, and the Sox are reigning World Series champs.
So in typical Boston fashion – Fenway stepped up to the plate, and knocked this season’s new menu out of the park.
Here are some of this year’s concession grand slams:
Sox fans can now order their favorite Boston brews two-ways. In a cup, or in their food! Nothing says Boston more than Sam Adams – the official beer sponsor of the Sox. This year, they brewed up some creative ways to enjoy their beer on a plate – including “Sam’s Slammin’ Onion”. A deep-fried, lager-battered snack.
If beer-infused food gets you in the mood, you may also want to try bacon-on-a-stick. The lager-glazed treat is the perfect grab-and-go concession snag. There’s also a brown sugar glazed option!
Speaking of breakfast foods, there’s a new “test kitchen” in the Big Concourse – known for its bold eats. This spot is set to serve up baseball brunch items during daytime games, including a breakfast burger, smothered between two maple waffles.
A Boston menu wouldn’t be complete without some “lobstah”. Despite its deceiving name, the local Yankee Lobster Co. is serving up a new, luxurious lobster twist on a BLT. And if you like your lobster in a roll, don’t fret. It’s still available.
And if you have room for dessert after all these decadent dining options, you can dig a spoon into the new “Banana Splitter” sundae – complete with three scoops of ice cream. A sweet celebratory treat *fingers-crossed* after the Sox win big this season.
