The Patriots drafted Campbell with the fourth overall pick on Thursday night.
The New England Patriots have found their new left tackle, and his introduction to the world was an emotional one. Getting up on stage and talking to Jamie Erdahl of NFL Network shortly after getting picked fourth overall in the 2025 NFL Draft, Will Campbell had to hold back tears.
“Man, just all the hard work…” Campbell said before having to pause. “I worked my entire life to be up here. To hear my name called by a franchise like New England, it means everything to me.”
The 21-year-old also spoke about what he is going to bring to a Patriots offensive line that had struggled the last two years.
“I’m going to fight and die to protect them with everything I’ve got.”
Campbell was arguably the best offensive lineman in college football in 2024, being named a Consensus All-American. A team captain at LSU, he started all 38 games he appeared in over his three-year tenure as a Tiger.
