Weather Channel Made Insane Patriots Reference For Hurricane Milton

October 11, 2024 by NESN

Hurricane Milton did its damage to most of Florida this week, and one reporter at the scene chose an odd time to bring up the New England Patriots.

The Category 3 storm left over three million residents without power and five people were confirmed dead, per the Associated Press. The devastation of the storm could be seen when the roof of Tropicana Field was torn off.

All eyes were glued on networks like the Weather Channel to get the latest updates on Hurricane Milton, and a reporter for the network made an odd comparison while in the eye of the storm.

“We might still be in the eye right now, but there’s still a lot more to go,” Paul Goodloe said Thursday. “I think back to the Atlanta Falcons’ first-half Super Bowl winner. We know what happened in the second half when the Patriots came back to life. Do not sleep on the second half of Milton.”

Falcons fans obviously weren’t pleased to catch a stray on the Weather Channel of all places, and it felt like a calculated ploy from Goodloe given his slight pause before his 28-3 reference.

Luckily for Florida residents, early reports indicated that the effects of Hurricane Milton weren’t as bad as feared. But it will still take collective action to help those affected by the storm.
