The Patriots’ longtime center recently announced his retirement.
Former New England Patriots center David Andrews announced his retirement last week, and on Monday held a press conference at Gillette Stadium to officially call it a career. One part of the festivities was a 10-minute video featuring several of Andrews’ former teammates.
The messages included the likes of Tom Brady, Matthew Slater, Rob Gronkowski, Julian Edelman, Joe Thuney, Devin and Jason McCourty, Duron Harmon, Trey Flowers, Lawrence Guy, Marcus Cannon, James White, Shaq Mason, Brian Hoyer, Nate Solder, Jarrett Stidham and A.J. Derby; the latter being Andrews’ roommate as a rookie back in 2015.
“I didn’t know that was happening, so that was really cool. A lot of those guys have either helped me or were a part of my journey,” Andrews said.
“I think the relationships will be the hardest part. I think that’s what makes it so emotional, that side of it.”
