Travis Kelce, Rob Gronkowski Fact Is Blowing Everyone’s Minds

October 6, 2023 by The Spun

Today is Travis Kelce’s 34th birthday. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end is currently in his 11th NFL season, but some people have realized something crazy about him and future Hall of Fame tight end Rob Gronkowski.

Taking to X on Thursday, Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team noted that Kelce and Gronkowski are now the same age. Gronkowski just turned 34 in May and is currently two years retired.

It’s incredible how the two star tight ends are nearly the same age despite their careers rarely overlapping. Gronkowski came out of college in 2010 while Kelce didn’t enter the NFL until 2013.

Fans on X were equally stunned that the two are the same age:

That’s crazy

Rob Gronkowski was the best tight end in the NFL from when he debuted until the mid-2010s, when injuries started to seriously hinder him.

Travis Kelce and Gronkowski only crossed paths a couple of times on the football field and shared only one Pro Bowl appearance together.

Gronkowski ultimately had his first retirement from the NFL at the age of 29 after winning Super Bowl LIII citing a combination of injuries. But he returned for one more run with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Meanwhile, Kelce has been one of the best tight ends in the NFL since Gronkowski retired. At the rate he’s going, he could join Gronkowski in Canton one day.
