Tom Brady Makes His Opinion On Patriots Coach Jerod Mayo Very Clear

The Tom Brady-Bill Belichick era for the New England Patriots is officially over. Now, it’s Jerod Mayo’s turn to show what he can do in Foxborough.

Mayo will need to win games early and often to win over the fan base’s trust, there’s no doubt about it. That being said, he already has Brady’s approval.

During an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show,” Brady was asked about the Patriots making Mayo their successor to Belichick. He had nothing but great things to say about his former teammate.

“Jerod was a great leader, a great captain, a great friend,” Brady said. “Him coming back to coaching is great for the NFL and great for the Patriots. He’s got a great understanding of how things need to be done. I think Jerod does an incredible job relating to everyone in the locker room. I think he’ll do a great job.”

Brady and Mayo were teammates from 2008-2015. They won a Super Bowl together during the 2014 season.

Suffice to say, Mayo knows all about “The Patriot Way” since he spent his entire playing and coaching career in New England. Can he replicate the success Brady and Belichick had though? It’ll take time for that question to be answered.
