On Sept. 17, a Patriots fan named Dale Mooney passed away after an altercation at Gillette Stadium. He was 53 years old.
Initial reports said Mooney was unresponsive for several minutes after taking a “vicious punch.” He was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Roughly a month later, the NFL community received an update on this tragedy.
The Foxborough Police Department told TMZ that it’s seeking assault and battery and disorderly conduct charges for three men.
At this time, the names of these three men have not been revealed. The police believe this trio were involved in the altercation that led to Mooney’s eventual death.

The belief is that a medical issue led to Mooney’s death, not a traumatic injury.
It’s important to note that a medical examiner’s investigation into the cause of Mooney’s death is still ongoing.
Our thoughts remain with the Mooney family and friends.
