Diggs spoke with the media for the first time since the video surfaced on May 28.

New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs spoke on Tuesday for the first time since the viral video surfaced of him on a boat back on May 28.

Diggs, who shared he has spoken with head coach Mike Vrabel and those inside the organization about the video, declined to offer much more information regarding the event.

“Obviously, I want to be as candid with you guys as possible,” Diggs told reporters at the end of the Patriots’ Tuesday mandatory minicamp. “I kind of, like, have a thing where [I don’t] talk about my personal life with people I don’t know personally. I’m pretty sure everybody here, men and women, are great people, but I try to keep my personal life personal.

“I had a conversation with Vrabes, obviously. I’m going to echo everything that he said. He told me he’s hoping everybody’s making good decisions. I had a conversation with people in the building, as well, so everything else is everything else. The particulars is all internal.”

In the video, Diggs was seen around three women and holding a clear bag with an unidentified pink substance inside. Diggs additionally declined to clarify what was in the bag.

“Obviously, it’s a conversation that’s happening internal,” Diggs said. “I can’t have too much of a conversation about it. I’ve been in this league 10 years. You can format the question many different ways, I’m obviously going to answer it the same way.”

Following the viral video, Diggs returned to Foxboro where he was present for the entire final week of organized team activities. Diggs then has been at both mandatory minicamp sessions where he has remained limited as he works back from a torn ACL.

Despite not participating in more competitive 11-on-11 drills, Diggs appears to be moving well and feels good in his rehabilitation process — which marks seven months since the injury on Saturday.

“In the beginning phases [of rehab] I wasn’t as confident, but I was trying it out. When I came back here my mindset was: I’m trying to get after it and get going,” Diggs said. “It’s kind of like a dog on a leash. You have to bring him back a little, especially me cause I want to go. But it’s the timing of everything and I’m looking forward to training camp.”

As for if he’ll be ready for the season opener on Sept. 7, Diggs said: “We’ll see how it goes. I’m grinding each and every day. Obviously, I can’t do too much of the team stuff right now, but I’m eager to get out there. So, whenever they do press the button, I’m going to be ready.”
