It’s been a rough few seasons for the New England Patriots after Tom Brady departed.
Brady helped the Patriots win six Super Bowls in two decades but since he left a few years ago, the team has only made the playoffs once. The team has also not won a playoff game since Super Bowl LIII in 2019.
Robert Kraft, who owns the team, has never been shy about voicing his opinion and in recent years has criticized the team for its drafting. However, that changed in a big way this year.
“We were able to get the top seven picks that we had identified before the draft. I think it gives us a good balance of what our needs are. I think our free agent pickups and getting Bill O’Brien in will make a big difference,” Kraft said, (first transcribed by ProFootballTalk).
The Patriots nabbed O’Brien from Alabama to be their offensive coordinator after their offense struggled mightily last season. They’re hoping he can turn Mac Jones around after he struggled in 2022.
It remains to be seen if those picks and free-agent pickups fit for this season and beyond.
