The New England Patriots waived quarterback Jake Dolegala on Monday per Doug Kyed of Pro Football Focus.
The 24=year-old was on the Patriots practice squad for most of last season. Following the injury to quarterback Jarrett Stidham, New England signed Dolegala again. Practicing behind Cam Newton, Mac Jones, and Brian Hoyer, Dolegala was with the team for nine practices.
With his release, the Patriots now have an open spot on their 90-man roster. With injuries piling up this week, that spot could be used fairly quickly. New England has two practices this week, as they prepare for the Washington football team on Thursday.
