Report: Bill Belichick’s Future With Patriots ‘Not Yet Decided’

December 18, 2023 by The Spun

This Bill Belichick story has more twists and turns than a drive up a mountain. Mere hours after a report from one outlet confirmed that the Patriots head coach would part ways with the team at season’s end, we have a new one that refutes all of them.

According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Belichick’s future “has not yet been been decided” and a final decision on him could take until well after the end of the 2023 season.

“The fate of Bill Belichick as head coach of the New England Patriots has not yet been decided,” Rapoport wrote.

“While the expectation is that a decision on his future will play out over the next month, sources also say it could take longer than that.”

Earlier today there was a report from The Athletic which confirmed a prior report from NBC’s Tom Curran stating that Belichick would mutually part ways with the team after the season.

Bill Belichick has four more games this season to make the case that the team is moving forward and not backwards under his leadership.

Will he be the head coach of the Patriots next season, or will he be forced to coach elsewhere in 2024?
