The Patriots picked the LSU product fourth overall in the draft.
With the first three picks in the 2025 NFL Draft going as expected, the New England Patriots also decided not to pull a rabbit out of their rear end. Instead, they went with the prospect they were believed to be targeting all along: LSU offensive tackle Will Campbell, who they ended up picking fourth overall in the first round.
“It means everything,” Campbell later said during his introductory media conference call. “I played for an historic program at LSU, and now to play for one in New England, I guess I’m lucky. But I’m just super excited and thankful to wear that logo on the side of my helmet and across the front of my chest. It’s a complete honor, and I’m just excited.”
Campbell spent three seasons at LSU, starting 38 games and earning All-SEC recognition each season. He was the first offensive lineman off the board in the draft.
