John Streicher held the role of game management coordinator in 2024.
After spending 2024 in the NFC West, John Streicher will be reuniting with a familiar face in the AFC East.
The game management coordinator of the Los Angeles Rams has accepted a position with the New England Patriots, head coach Sean McVay confirmed during his end-of-season press conference.
Sean McVay confirms that John “Stretch” Streicher is headed back to work with Mike Vrabel in New England. Laughing, he said Stretch “broke his heart” with the news. Streicher was a huge influence on McVay’s improved situational and game management this year.

Streicher, 35, spent six campaigns working under Mike Vrabel with the Tennessee Titans. Starting as an assistant to the head coach in 2018 and 2019, he went on to work in football development from 2020 through 2022. The title of director of football administration followed in 2023.
An Ohio State alum, like the Patriots Hall of Fame inductee, Streicher earned his bachelor’s degree in 2012 and master’s degree in 2014. He served as an equipment manager and student assistant during his time with the Buckeyes.
From there, Streicher spent two seasons on James Madison’s football staff, as a special assistant to the head coach as well as the director of football operations and player personnel. He later became the director of football operations at Texas State before entering the NFL ranks.
ESPN’s Mike Reiss reported last weekend that Streicher was expected to join the staff in Foxborough.
