What once appeared to be a minor roster transaction morphed into a rather uncommon situation and now into something that has people downright worried.
Earlier today the New England Patriots placed quarterback Matt Corral on the reserve/left squad list and elevated Bailey Zappe to the active roster. According to reports, Corral initially flaked on two days of meetings.
But according to FOX insider Henry McKenna, the Patriots are now “concerned” for Corral given the suddenness with which he left. One source told McKenna that the team wants to make sure he’s okay and that it’s not a mental health issue.
“He just left the team, let’s just make sure he’s OK. I don’t know if it’s mental health. I just know he kind of flaked out,” the source said.
Fans on X are becoming a little worried too:

“Thank god someone is worried about what actually matters here,” one user replied.
“‘Mental muscle’ also has a max out. Hoping this man finds his footing again in whatever storm he’s enduring, if any (assuming). Give him the tools he needs to return to the game he loves and better manage the load,” wrote another.
It’s too early to speculate on what the reasons for Corral’s absence might be but an abundance of caution couldn’t hurt.
We all hope that Corral is fine and that whatever’s caused him to go missing isn’t something more serious.
