In yet another crushing blow to the New England Patriots’ season, not only did they lose to their hated rivals the Miami Dolphins, they lost a prized wide receiver in the process.

According to NFL insider Mike Garafolo, Patriots wide receiver Kendrick Bourne suffered a torn ACL in yesterday’s 31-17 loss to the Dolphins. He is now done for the rest of the season.

“#Patriots WR Kendrick Bourne tore his ACL, source says. Frustrating end to a promising season for the veteran receiver,” Garafolo wrote.

Bourne is the Patriots’ leading receiver in all categories this season. He has 37 receptions for 406 yards and four touchdowns. All three marks far outpace his fellow wide receivers on the team.

The New England Patriots currently rank in the bottom half of the league in nearly all offensive categories. They are 2-6 on the season and have two more games to play before their Week 11 bye.

As it stands, the Patriots would have the No. 5 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft if the season ended today. One would think that the front office is already thinking about how they would use such a pick.

Should the Patriots sell the farm before the trade deadline and start gearing up for a rebuild?
