The Patriots will open their 2025 training camp on Wednesday.
Football is back in Foxborough. While training camp is only another step toward the regular season, it is the first opportunity to get an extended look at the 2025 New England Patriots — a team looking drastically different compared to last year’s version, let alone the one that was regularly competing for the Super Bowl less than a decade ago.
With Mike Vrabel returning to the organization as its head coach this offseason, a new era of Patriots football is underway. Starting on Wednesday, fans will finally get to experience it first-hand.
Schedule
The Patriots’ first training camp session will take place on the practice fields behind Gillette Stadium. As are most other sessions, it is open to the general public at no cost.

Story of the day
While there will not be any big conclusions to be drawn from one practice in shorts and shells, the first day of training camp also always is a “vibe check” for a team. What does this mean for the 2025 Patriots? That Wednesday’s practice will set the tone for what is to follow in terms of drill selection, general intensity, and communication between players and coaches (particularly on defense, with coordinator Terrell Williams back in the mix).
Injuries to monitor
NFI: WR Jeremiah Webb, CB Carlton Davis, S Josh Minkins
PUP: WR Mack Hollins, TE Austin Hooper, OT Vederian Lowe, LB Jahlani Tavai
The Patriots are entering Day 1 of training camp with seven players on injury lists. According to head coach Mike Vrabel, however, the expectation is that some of them — Jahlani Tavai, Carlton Davis, Jeremiah Webb — will be back on the practice field as early as Wednesday.
Players to watch
WR Stefon Diggs: Despite suffering a torn ACL just nine months ago, the Patriots’ high-priced free agency signing avoided being sent to a pre-training camp injury list. Now fully cleared for participation, Diggs will be thrown right into the mix with the team’s starters around quarterback Drake Maye.
WR Efton Chism III: One of the under-the-radar players to watch this year, the undrafted free agent received plenty of opportunities during the offseason workout program. A shifty slot receiver, he looks tailor-made for success in a Josh McDaniels offense.
RB TreVeyon Henderson: With his contract signed, the Patriots’ second-round draft pick is full-go for his first NFL training camp. While he will not yet get to display his trademark physicality as a pass protector, the early portion of camp will give him an opportunity to build on his spring and further establish himself as an RB1b in New England’s offense.
S Marcus Epps: Like Stefon Diggs, Epps also saw his 2024 season come to a premature end because of an ACL tear; he also spent his first spring as a Patriot in rehab mode; he too was not sent to an injury list over the weekend. Long story short: the 29-year-old is good to go for camp and ready to compete for a role in what is a crowded safety room.
K Andres Borregales: The Patriots’ kicker competition looked fairly one-sided during offseason workouts, with the rookie Borregales having the upper hand over competitor Parker Romo. The pressure of training camp with thousands of fans in attendance, however, makes for a more difficult environment.
