The New England Patriots made some big upgrades to their tight ends room in free agency. Unfortunately, one of the team’s signings is currently sidelined with an injury.
According to a report from ESPN NFL insider Mike Reiss, Patriots tight end Hunter Henry is dealing with an injury.
Henry, 26, reportedly suffered a shoulder injury at practice on Sunday. He is reportedly set to undergo an MRI.

While initial indications are that the injury doesn’t appear serious, it is painful and Henry could miss time in the preseason, sources say.
Henry signed with the Patriots in free agency. He agreed to a three-year, $37.5 million contract with the AFC East franchise.

The Patriots added multiple tight ends in free agency this offseason. New England also signed former Titans tight end Jonnu Smith to a four-year, $50 million contract.
New England is scheduled to open the 2021 regular season on Sunday, Sept. 12 against the Miami Dolphins.
