New England hosted Marlon Williams and Josh Harvey-Clemons.

Just as they did prior to the weekend, the New England Patriots updated the emergency lists on Monday by hosting a pair of free agents for workouts.

According to Mike Reiss of ESPN, those free agents were wide receiver Marlon Williams and linebacker Josh Harvey-Clemons.

Williams, 22, is an undrafted rookie who spent less than a month with the Houston Texans after signing in May. Patriots draft pick Tre Nixon’s former Central Florida teammate reeled in 157 catches over the course of his 41-game career. Standing at 6-foot, 215 pounds, Williams is a bruiser who runs the majority of his routes from the slot. He led all UCF receivers with 71 receptions in 2020.

Harvey-Clemons, 27, is fourth-year player out of Louisville and Georgia. After being drafted in the seventh round by the Washington Football Team in 2017, Harvey-Clemons underwent a position change from safety to linebacker, though the majority of his 35 appearances with Washington came on special teams. Opting out in 2020 due to concerns over the Covid-19 pandemic, he was eventually released by Washington in May. The 6-foot-4, 245-pound Harvey-Clemons was a high school teammate of former Patriots wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell.

New England’s roster is currently capped at 90. Any future signing would need a corresponding move.

The first practice of training camp is set for Wednesday.
