The New England Patriots are adding a new face to their front office.

Per The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman, the Patriots are set to hire the University of Miami’s Alonzo Highsmith. Highsmith will be an executive in personnel.

He’s been the general manager of the football program at Miami for the last two years.

Before taking that job he worked for the Cleveland Browns, Green Bay Packers, and Seattle Seahawks.

This looks to be another step towards changing the power structure in New England since Bill Belichick ran the show for over two decades before he and the team parted ways.

Highsmith will likely have a big voice in player personnel decisions alongside Eliot Wolf, who is the director of scouting.

Head coach Jerod Mayo will also be involved after he was hired to replace Belichick.

It’s a new era in New England and it has fans pretty excited.
