Diggs visited New England last week.

The New England Patriots have reached an agreement with free agent wide receiver Stefon Diggs, according to multiple reports.

After visiting with the team last week, Diggs is now set to sign a three-year deal worth $69 million with $28 million guaranteed.

The 31-year old Diggs appeared in eight games for the Houston Texans last season catching 47 passes for 496 receiving yards and three touchdowns. A torn ACL he suffered in late October ended his season prematurely and perhaps will put the start of his 2025 season in jeopardy.

During Diggs’ recent visit in Foxboro, the medical checkup was positive, however, as the receiver was ahead of schedule five months removed from the injury, according to ESPN’s Mike Reiss.

If healthy, Diggs immediately brings an upgrade to the Patriots’ current pass catching group. Prior to last season, Diggs posted six consecutive 1,000-yard seasons for the Minnesota Vikings and Buffalo Bills. He has been a particular force against New England as he posted two 100+ yard games and eight total touchdowns against the Patriots over his career.

Beyond bring an upgrade in talent, Diggs will also provide a veteran presence to an otherwise young wide receiver room. While Diggs was never shy of being vocal on the sideline in Buffalo, he was voted a captain in his first year with the Texans last season.

“He’s been nothing but just amazing to this team and to his teammates,” Texas quarterback C.J. Stroud said of the receiver last summer. “He’s helped me out a ton. As you can see, we’re clicking more and more every game. So, I’m very happy for him and I’m glad that he’s finally having fun playing the game and doing what he loves to do because he loves football a lot.”

New England also has connections on staff to Diggs as wide receiver coach Todd Downing spent one year with him in Minnesota. Additionally, offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels’ brother, Ben, was also the Texans’ wide receiver coach last season.

Prior to signing Diggs, the Patriots added just veteran Mack Hollins at the wide receiver position in free agency. The duo will join a group that also consists of Kendrick Bourne, DeMario Douglas, Kayshon Boutte, Ja’Lynn Polk, Javon Baker, JaQuae Jackson and John Jiles.
