As the New England Patriots seek to fortify their offensive line, they cut an internal depth piece Thursday.
The Patriots released tackle Yodny Cajuste, who played a career-high 10 games last season. ESPN’s Field Yates noted that the move saves them $2.74 million in cap space.

Drafted with the No. 101 pick out of West Virginia in 2019, Cajuste didn’t make his NFL debut until 2021. He played just 81 offensive snaps in seven games that season.
Last year, the 6-foot-5, 310-pounder received an expanded role despite missing October with a thumb injury. Cajuste started three games for the Patriots, who finished 26th in total offense.
New England must replace starting tackle Isaiah Wynn, who stayed in the AFC East to join the Miami Dolphins. The Patriots signed Calvin Anderson and Riley Reiff and spent three Day 3 draft picks on offensive linemen (Jake Andrews, Sidy Sow, and Atonio Mafi).
