A plane and an army helicopter collided over the Potomac River on Wednesday evening.

Arriving in Washington from Wichita, KS, the plane was preparing to land at Ronald Reagan National Airport when it collided with a Black Hawk helicopter at 8:47 p.m. local time. The helicopter was conducting a training flight, according to a report by the Associated Press.
Search and rescue operations are ongoing, but officials fear that the lives of all 67 people aboard the two aircraft have been lost.
