The New England Patriots have reportedly looked to a former Ohio State standout to add to their secondary.
Per ESPN’s Mike Reiss, the Pats brought in former Buckeye/Charger defensive back Cameron Brown in for a free agent tryout. Adding, “The team has room on the practice squad and has had its depth in the defensive backfield thinned in recent weeks.”

Brown played five seasons at Ohio State where he saw action in 40 games and made 15 starts. In 2021, he was an honorable All-Big Ten selection for his 25-tackle, seven-pass deflection season along with an interception in the Buckeyes win over Penn State.
Brown went undrafted but was picked up by the Los Angeles Chargers ahead of the 2023 season.
Now with several members of their defensive backfield on the injury report, Bill Belichick is kicking the tires on the Missouri-born 23-year-old. Brown was a former four-star recruit prior to his career in Columbus.
