The New England Patriots and free agent running back Dalvin Cook have reportedly been in contact this offseason.
According to Bobby Thompson, the four-time Pro Bowler has had conversations with Pats player personnel director Matt Groh, and the interest between the two sides is “real.”

Dalvin Cook was cut by the Vikings last month, ending a six-year run in Minnesota where he rushed nearly 6,000 yards and 47 touchdowns in 73 games. The Patriots are definitely a team in need of offensive help, but their ground game wasn’t as much of the issue in 2022.
With that said, when you have the chance to potentially add a player fresh off of four-straight Pro Bowl selections for a team friendly price, its definitely something any organization would kick the tires on.
The Pats lost Damien Harris to the AFC East rival Bills back in March. And while they still have 1,000-yard back Rhamondre Stevenson who can tote the rock, we know that New England likes to rotate its ballcarriers.
The Dolphins have also been rumored to be interested in Cooks’ services.
