New England Patriots cornerback Jack Jones was arrested on Friday after two firearms were discovered in his luggage at Boston’s Logan Airport.
In the wake of Jones’ arrest, an unfortunate recent tweet of his has resurfaced. It’s from last month, and features the 25-year-old defensive back criticizing NBA star Ja Morant for being caught on camera with a gun for the second time in months.
“[Ja Morant] dumb.. you letting social media and yo pride ruin yo real money,” Jones’ tweet read. “Put them guns down and run that money up. Make one of yo homies sign up for security or concealed carry if you feel like you need it that bad.. but you the bread winner you gotta start acting like it..”

Jones probably wants that tweet back, or wishes he took his own advice.
Jones is reportedly facing two counts of possession of a concealed weapon in a secure area of the airport, two counts of possession of ammunition without a firearm identification card, two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm, two counts of carrying a loaded firearm and two counts of possession of a large-capacity feeding device.
A fourth-round pick out of Arizona State in 2022, Jones appeared in 13 games as a rookie for the Pats, recording 30 tackles, two interceptions, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.
