The Patriots received unfortunate news Friday involving second-year cornerback Jack Jones.
Jones was arrested Friday after two firearms were found in his luggage at Boston’s Logan Airport.
When the dust settled, Jones was reportedly charged with two counts of possession of a concealed weapon in a secure area of the airport, two counts of possession of ammunition without a firearm identification card, two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm, two counts of carrying a loaded firearm and two counts of possession of a large-capacity feeding device.
Jones’ bail was set at $50,000. He will be arraigned next week.
The Patriots have already issued a statement on Jones’ arrest.
“We have been notified that Jack Jones was arrested at Logan Airport earlier today,” the team said. “We are in the process of gathering more information and will not be commenting further at this time.”

Jones, 25, made an impact for the Patriots as a rookie last season. The Arizona State product had 30 total tackles, six pass breakups, two interceptions and a forced fumble.
We’ll see if this incident affects Jones’ spot on the roster.
