The New England Patriots are looking to send kicker Nick Folk to a new team.
Per Jeff Howe and Dianna Russini, the Patriots are engaged in trade talks regarding Folk, who has been in a kicking competition with rookie Chad Ryland.

Ryland was picked in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL Draft.
While Folk didn’t do anything wrong during the preseason (he made his only field goal attempt and both of his extra points), this is likely about the Patriots seeing what they have in the rookie.
Ryland made both of his extra-point attempts and did not have a field goal try during the preseason.
Folk has been with the Patriots for the last four seasons of his 15-year career. He has also spent time with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New York Jets, and Dallas Cowboys.
The Patriots have until 4 p.m. ET to figure out a trade since that’s when 53-man rosters are due.
