The New England Patriots completed their 2024 NFL draft class with seven out of the eight players taken being on the offensive side of the ball.
That’s probably the biggest clue that Bill Belichick is no longer running things. Coach Jerod Mayo and de facto general manager Eliot Wolf settled on using the No. 3 overall pick on North Carolina quarterback Drake Maye. They then proceeded to use their other picks on rebuilding the offense around the quarterback.
Two of the picks were used on wide receivers Ja’Lynn Polk and Javon Baker, while another two were used on offensive linemen Caedan Wallace and Layden Robinson. The team also doubled down at quarterback with an intriguing project talent in Joe Milton III, along with finally taking a tight end in the seventh round with Jaheim Bell.
Cornerback Marcellas Dial was the lone defensive pick for a Patriots team hell-bent on building the right kind of foundation for a winning culture. Let’s take a look at the projected contracts for the eight rookie players ahead of the 2024 season, per Spotrac.
