Patrick Mahomes Reveals How Many Super Bowls He Hopes To Win

Officially or not, the chase for Tom Brady is on for Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Having now won his third Super Bowl at the tender age of 28, Patrick Mahomes only needs one more to tie the legendary Joe Montana and Terry Bradshaw for the second-most Super Bowl wins by a starter in NFL history. But is his goal to match or even surpass The GOAT?

Kind of. Speaking to Andrew Siciliano, Mahomes said that while the goal is “always seven,” he’s more focused on being the best he can be.

“Yeah, I think it’s more just me trying to be the best I can be,” Mahomes said, via ProFootballTalk. “I don’t want to have any regrets at the end of my career. And I know how great of an organization, how great of a coach, tight end, players that I have around me. And I don’t want to let that slide by. I want to make sure I maximize my opportunities.

“Obviously, the goal is always seven [rings] — it’s always to try and get as much as you can. And so, all I can do is try to maximize my opportunities every single day, continue to work to be better not only for myself, but for my team. And we’ll see what happens at the end of my career.”

Having now won three Super Bowls and been to four in just the last five years, it seems almost inevitable that he’ll win another one – or two, or even three.

It’s worth noting that while Tom Brady won three in his first five NFL seasons, he didn’t win his fourth until his 15th season. He was 37 at the time.

Mahomes now has a full decade to win a fourth and gain a leg-up on Brady in that regard.

Can he do it?
