Where will Cam Newton end up next? That’s the question on every NFL fan’s mind now that he’s been released from the New England Patriots’ roster.
Newton’s best days are behind him at this point in his career, there’s no denying that. However, he could be a “bridge quarterback” for an NFL team in need of help at the position.
It could be a while until Newton signs with another team, but there are a few landing spots that currently make sense. The Denver Broncos are one of them since they have two lower-level starters on their roster in Teddy Bridgewater and Drew Lock.
Bridgewater was recently named the Week 1 starter for the Broncos, albeit the team may put Lock in if Bridgewater struggles early.
Sam Monson of Pro Football Focus believes Newton would be the best quarterback on Denver’s roster if he ends up in the Mile High City.

Another AFC team that could be in the mix for the former MVP is Houston. With so much uncertainty surrounding Deshaun Watson’s situation, the Texans might want to take a look at Newton.

The third team being linked to Newton right now are the Dallas Cowboys. They recently named Cooper Rush their backup quarterback for the 2021 season.
Newton would be an upgrade over Rush, but the Cowboys don’t really need a top-tier backup unless Dak Prescott gets hurt.

Last season, Newton had 2,657 passing yards, eight touchdowns and 10 interceptions. His production in the passing game left a lot to be desired.
We’ll see if Newton can find a new home in the NFL sooner rather than later.
