Tom Brady and the New England Patriots didn’t part ways on the best of terms, but there was never any doubt that Brady’s first NFL team would honor him when he announced his retirement.
On Wednesday, following Brady’s retirement announcement, the Patriots retweeted their own congratulations message from this day LAST year as part of their “sendoff” for the seven-time Super Bowl champion.
“Quite the ride indeed. Thank you again, @TomBrady,” the team wrote.
Fans adored how cheeky the team acted with Brady here. Their post has gone viral with over 15,000 views, 2,000 retweets and tons of comments since going up early this morning. Here are a few highlights:
From 2001 to 2019, Tom Brady helped turn the New England Patriots into arguably the greatest sports dynasty in history. They won six Super Bowls, reached nine, and played in a dozen AFC Championship Games before they parted ways after the 2019 season.
The Patriots dominated the AFC East for most of that time and never had a losing season during Brady’s years as a starter.
It was during Brady’s three years with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers where he cemented himself as the greatest ever who didn’t need Patriots head coach Bill Belichick to be a winner though.
Brady has won ever accolade imaginable and the only one left is a bronze bust in Canton.
