NFL Fans React To ‘Worries’ About Bill Belichick’s Job

July 14, 2023 by The Spun

FOXBOROUGH, MASSACHUSETTS – JANUARY 04: Head coach Bill Belichick of the New England Patriots addresses the media in a press conference following the Patriots 20-13 loss to the Tennessee Titans in the AFC Wild Card Playoff game at Gillette Stadium on January 04, 2020 in Foxborough, Massachusetts. Earlier this week a report emerged suggesting Bill Belichick’s friends are “worried” about him.

According to a report from longtime Patriots reporter Ben Volin, they’re worried that he could be on the hot seat.

“Robert Kraft already made it clear in March that he wants the Patriots to make the postseason and win a playoff game for the first time in five years,” Volin wrote. “He also paid Jerod Mayo handsomely to keep him off the coaching market and likely views him as the team’s coach-in-waiting. And Belichick’s friends have privately said they are worried that he is on the hot seat in 2023.”

Fans had conflicting reactions to the report. Some believe it’s time to move on from the longtime head coach, while others think he’s done too much for the franchise for the Patriots to move on now.

“Replace him with who?” one fan asked.

“He should have a job the rest of his life just for what he has done,” one fan said.

“Patriots could go 0-17 for the next 2 years and his job would be safe lol,” offered another.

Six Super Bowl titles likely gives Belichick a little leeway.
