Usually New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick gives short and blunt answers to questions at his press conferences. But today he apparently came ready to deliver a dissertation.
Belichick’s opening statement to the media ahead of Sunday’s big game against the Dallas Cowboys was a lengthy statement. A VERY lengthy statement.
Patriots insider Ben Volin noted that the statement took a whole five minutes from start to finish before Belichick was done speaking and opened it up for questions. It took him several pages of text in order to fit it all into one post on X. Congressional filibusters would be proud.
NFL fans were extremely amused by Belichick’s long speech and had a good number of funny reactions to how much he droned on for:
Wow…. Belichick prepare much?? https://t.co/AyRxyjV4jk

It’s Scary how much Bill knows about every opponent he ever faces. Man broke down the entire 53 man roster. https://t.co/jrRW2kExKQ

This reads like a high school essay where you’re supposed to offer a critical analysis of a book but instead you just summarize it. C- work at best.

Really nothing worse than Bill praising your team and mentioning specific players because that means he’s working on eliminating them from the game. CeeDee is that target probably.

Bill Belichick has always been known as a master preparer. Some of his disciples have tried to replicate his level of preparation by having their players memorize the names of all players.
But rarely has Belichick shown off the full extent of how well he studies for an upcoming opponent.
Now we understand why he’s considered the most prepared coach in football.
