The Dallas Cowboys take on the New England Patriots is a game that they’re eager to win convincingly after their recent humiliation at the hands of the Arizona Cardinals. But they appear concerned about one potential edge the Patriots have.
Speaking to the media this week, Cowboys offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer was asked about the Patriots’ recent acquisition of quarterback Will Grier – Dallas’ former backup – and former starting running back Ezekiel Elliott. Schottenheimer seemed concerned that Grier and Elliott would give the Patriots the keys to unlocking their offense.
“We know Will knows where a lot of the bones are buried. We know Zeke does as well… I’m sure (Grier) is definitely being interrogated,” Schottenheimer said, via ESPN’s Todd Archer.
As usual, NFL fans are giving Patriots head coach Bill Belichick props for being one step ahead of everyone. While some consider it another case of cheating, it’s largely being viewed by a genius move that can give them an edge.

Blows my mind that teams don’t do this every week to cut players that were on the team they face the next week. Any bit of info is good. https://t.co/gdCAtiRZ2h

There’s no way to know if the “method” will actually work. The Cowboys look vulnerable at the moment, so even if they lose people might not attribute a loss to the presence of Will Grier or Ezekiel Elliott.
Can Grier or Elliott be difference-makers for the Patriots in their upcoming game against the Cowboys?
