Former Patriots safety Sergio Brown was taken into custody this Tuesday. The police issued a warrant for first-degree murder in connection with the death of his mother.
Brown’s mother, Myrtle, was found in a creek near her Maywood home on Sept. 16. Relatives told the police they were unable to contact Brown.
Things took a turn for the worse when the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office determined that Myrtle Brown died from injuries related to an assault.
Shortly after her death, a video of Brown in a tropical location surfaced on social media. At that time, he said he was under the belief that his mother was on vacation.
Fans are understandably disturbed by Brown’s connection to his mother’s death.
