New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones has had a nightmare game today in Texas.
Jones has been intercepted twice, including a pick-6, while also having a fumble returned for another score. The Patriots currently trail the Dallas Cowboys 31-3 midway through the third quarter.
After Jones’ latest INT, the calls were in full force on social media for backup Bailey Zappe.
“I don’t think Bailey Zappe is a better option for the season, but after that INT it might be time to take Mac Jones out of this one. Just doesn’t have it today. Have to stop the bleeding,” said WEEI’s Mike Kadlick.

What would putting Zappe in the game accomplish? Nothing for today, as this game is all but over, and nothing even in the long-term, as Zappe doesn’t have what it takes to be a quality NFL starter.
It might be worth trying the second-year signal caller at some point this afternoon though, if only to give Mac Jones a breather during one of the worst games of his career.
