Michael Irvin Thinks It’s Time For Bill Belichick To Find New Destination

December 10, 2023 by The Spun

Despite the Patriots’ win over the Steelers on Thursday night, Michael Irvin of “Undisputed” is convinced it’s time for Bill Belichick to leave New England.

“This win will not save his job, and I think rightfully so,” Irvin said. “… I think it’s best for both parties to go their separate ways. You get your assets for Bill Belichick and let him go somewhere else. You get a chance to start with something.”

It’s hard to argue against Irvin. The Patriots still own the second-worst record (3-10) in the NFL this season.

If the Patriots are willing to deal Belichick, they could get a nice haul in return.

According to Jeff Howe of The Athletic, the Patriots could receive a first-round pick in a potential trade involving Belichick.

“Three high-ranking executives from rival teams who were polled by The Athletic believed the 71-year-old (Bill Belichick) could be worth as much as a first-round draft pick,” Howe wrote.

It has already been reported that Belichick wants to coach next season, regardless of his future with the Patriots.
